Get to know Christina Gibson and all about her role at WeHOPE.

  1. Can you introduce yourself, including your title and the department you work in?

Hello - I'm Christina Gibson, the Shelter Manager at WeHOPE.

  2. Could you describe what your job involves?

As the Shelter Manager, my role involves ensuring that our staff is properly trained and equipped for their jobs. Currently, I manage a team of about 10, which will soon expand to 12-13, not including an additional case management team of 5 people.

  3. How did you arrive at your current position?

I've been with WeHOPE for almost 11 years and have taken advantage of every opportunity for personal and professional growth provided by the organization. I began as a Shelter RSC, progressed to Case Manager, then Lead Case Manager. I subsequently served as a Program Manager for Dignity@Work while continuing my lead case management duties. When the Shelter Manager position became available, I applied and I got it!

  4. What is one important thing you'd like our community to know about WeHOPE?

Transforming lives isn't just a phrase we use to attract donors or volunteers - it's the essence of what WeHOPE stands for.

  5. What is your favorite aspect of working at WeHOPE?

For the past 10+ years, I've had the privilege of being a part of someone's comeback story. I couldn't ask for more in - this experience has been so rewarding.

  6. Is there anything else you'd like to share about your role at WeHOPE?

I believe it doesn't take much to contribute towards helping those who find themselves in unfortunate circumstances. Everyone can do their part!

  7. What inspires you? Share your favorite quote.

    I have two!

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.

Thank you, Christina Gibson, for your 11 years of service to our community and for sharing your story. We are grateful to have you on the team - we celebrate your ongoing commitment to WeHOPE and the community we serve.
